Is planet earth dying? It’s a sincere question. It’s a serious question. There is SO MUCH evidence all around, and in the news, to make one wonder.
First off, in the animal (Animalia) kingdom, there is strong evidence of greatly declining populations of bats, bees, birds, coral, fish, insects, sea lions, whales, and others, some even on the brink of extinction. “Mass die-offs accelerate across the planet, by 2020 two-thirds of wild animals will be wiped out.” “Animal populations worldwide have declined nearly 70% in just 50 years, new report says – (9/10/2020)“
The plant (Plantae) kingdom seems to be greatly struggling as well. The most ready example is how tree die-offs are reported from around the world. “150 million dead trees could fuel unprecedented firestorms in the Sierra Nevada.”
Even fresh water is in decline. “More than half of Earth’s 37 largest aquifers are being depleted…at alarming rates, according to new NASA satellite data…”
Not to mention the great rise in earthquake and volcano activity, the great decline in natural resources, the great nutrient collapse in our food, deadly viruses, warming and acidifying oceans, warming planet, greatly warming Arctic and Antarctic, massive permafrost thaw, methane blowholes, …and the list goes on.
Any one of these by themselves one might be able to simply ignore. But taken as a whole…!
So again the question is, is planet earth dying? There are more than a hundred articles linked here for you to study and come to your own conclusion. (And more articles being added all the time.) It is not intended to be alarmist, but to inform. “The mind of the prudent acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.” – Ancient proverb.
